Our History

Nearly 30 years ago, Kris Cordell began her homeschool journey when her oldest child was ready to "start school." For ten years, she enjoyed traveling the road of a homeschool mom of four. When Kris decided to invite a few friends to join her children for a literature study, she quickly learned that most parents struggle with teaching their children to write...and most children struggle with their parents' teaching of writing.

And so, the journey began…

Nearly 20 years later, The Write Journey has grown to include a team of instructors, a wide variety of classes and personalized tutoring, and a community of families who support each other through the twists, turns, pits, and peaks of homeschooling.

With so many curriculum options, it’s easy to become confused, overwhelmed, and exasperated. We get it. We’ve been there ourselves. Our vision is to empower you with resources, guidance, and support to help your children reach their fullest potential as writers, readers, and critical thinkers. Our team of expert instructors practices relational teaching methods to create a safe, supportive place for children to express their views, be inclusive, and think analytically.
